A vacuum forming machine (VFM) designed for packaging products onto a cardboard backing using a thermo-vacuum process.

The VFM is capable of the following:

    •

    • Packaging products using SKIN technology (a special film tightly wraps the product and is securely fixed to a cardboard backing);
    • Manufacturing blister packaging:
    • Forming various types of packaging, boxes, and trays (inserts) for the food industry using thermoplastic materials. To create blisters and inserts (trays), the machine is equipped with a set of custom-made **molds** tailored to the customer’s requirements.

An optional feature is the **production** of a set of **molds** for the matrix-forming of blisters and boxes.

Purpose:

The equipment is designed for:

    •

    • packaging haberdashery, perfumery, and stationery items, gift sets, small technical components, toys, fastener kits, and small parts;
    • manufacturing blisters (for blister packaging), inserts (trays), transparent boxes, and single-use containers;
    • producing food trays.

Recommendations for selecting consumables for SKIN packaging

**Skin packaging** is an excellent alternative to traditional blister packaging. It consists of a thin, heated film that, under vacuum conditions, tightly wraps around a product placed on a paper or cardboard backing. This ensures a high level of protection and an attractive appearance for the product. An important advantage is that the customer can view the item without compromising the integrity of the packaging.
Implementing the SKIN method does not require the use of additional molds, which significantly simplifies the process and minimizes costs.

Properly selected consumables are the key to ensuring the aesthetic appeal and airtight integrity of the finished packaging.
Skin packaging utilizes single-layer, non-metallized, air-permeable cardboard (which must be completely dry) with a thickness of 0.5–0.6 mm, as well as a thermoplastic film capable of stretching up to 300% without losing its structural integrity. We recommend using specially treated polyethylene (PE) film with a thickness of 80–200 microns. In addition to polyethylene, “Surlyn” film—based on ionomer resins—may also be used.

Recommendations for selecting consumables for forming blisters for blister packaging

The technology for creating blisters and confectionery trays (inserts) involves the use of reusable molds made from materials certified for the food industry (such as aluminum or wood).
As raw material, one may use either domestic or imported film materials—PE, PVC, PET, or PS—with a thickness ranging from 80 to 1000 microns.
